Working faster with Assemblies
To increase your cost estimating speed when creating an assembly, don't have Costimator recalculate the manufacturing times and costs until the end of your estimating process.
1.) Turn off the columns by right clicking the "Detail" bar and set the "Time and Cost" fields to "Do not display" and uncheck "Plants." This will prevent Costimator from re-calculating for every entry that is made.
2.) Now Costimator is ready to have sub components added through an assembly operation. By selecting "Quick Select" the components will be added immediately.
3.) Next Save the part, then select "tools" from the "file" menu and then "Update from database." At this time, all of the red components will become black. Once you have completed adding information to the estimate then set "Time, Cost and Plants" to display.
