1. The Stock Size is the original diameter of the bar or cutoff blank that will be machined.
2. The Stock Length is the overall length of the part to start with.
3. Enter the Finish OD Diameter.
This is the final size of the outside diameter of the part.
4. Enter the ID (Bore Size).
This is the finish size of the smallest internal diameter.
5. Enter the Counterbore size if one exists otherwise ignore.
6. The program will calculate the honing of the ID automatically.
7. Select the Material Group in order to calculate grinding time.
8. Grinding depth is set to .007.
That means the diameter will be reduced by (.007 * 2 = .014). The depth can be changed by you.
9. Enter the hole diameter located in the bolt circle.
Depth is calculated based on the thickness of the original stock length.
10. Enter the number of holes.
11. Program will calculate the plunge time to mill the outside scallops based on stock length and number of holes.
The times are calculated based on the core Costimator speeds, feeds for machining, machine and material specifications. The material group is used for calculating all of the grinding data.
