Holes, Inside Hole Undercuts

Undercut Time based on the speeds and feeds residing in the database for the material selected.
The process is:
Step 1: The Undercut Head enters the existing hole.
Step 2: The Undercut Head, which usually has a clutch and stop mechanism begins to start the grooving processing with the spindle of the machine turned on.
Step 3: Once the undercut is made to size both on the diameter and length at this diameter, the tool retracts inward and then outward of the hole.
This is similar to Grooving, except that the groove tool only moves in one direction to the final diameter size. Here both the tool and the machine move to machine an undercut.
Wohlhaupter is one of the manufacturers of this special type of tool.
