Holes, Bored Counterbores Form Tooled
This Cost Model (CM) is normally used for Prismatic and Cylindrical Type Parts.
Use this selection for holes with counterbores.
User Input
1. Enter the "Mid-size Counterbore Diameter".
This is the counterbore diameter that is the closet to the middle size of the several different size bores in the port hole.
2. Enter the "Counterbore Longest Depth".
This is the depth that will control the time for the form tool to cut all of the bores at the same time.
3. Enter the "Number of Ports"
The program will calculate the Spot Drill Size, Preform Drill and Final form Counterbore Time based on the speeds and feeds residing in the database for the material selected.
The final time includes spot drilling, drilling and counterboring of the hole(s). Allowance for the approach of the tools is also included.
If there is a thru hole at the bottom, then the user needs to go to the model that performs that task.
