Deep Holes
The program will calculate the Spot Drill Size and Drill Time based on the speeds and feeds residing in the database for the material selected. For deep holes, whereby the ratio of diameter to depth is greater than (3) the program will automatically calculate the adjusted time for deep holes.
The final time includes spot drilling and drilling of the hole(s). Allowance for the approach of the tools is also included.
This Cost Model (CM) is normally used for Prismatic and Cylindrical Type Parts. Used for Holes five times deeper then the diameter. This requires the use of a special cycle called deep hole drilling.
