The key to any cost estimating system is the reliability of the data it contains.
Over 95% of the manufacturing cost estimating data (cost models, material configurations, work center specifications, time standards, etc.) residing in the Costimator database libraries come from well-known, reliable industry sources and our customer base, which includes over 1,300 discrete manufacturers worldwide.
Costimator provides invaluable manufacturing data. It provides real-world information that users can reference and work from, making cost modeling faster, more consistent and accurate. Companies that have their own data can also import that data into the library through the use of our Import Utility.
The Work Center Database allows the user to store and maintain data about their machines or departments. It includes the labor and burden rates for set-up and cutting times. This database also allows for operator fatigue, machine capabilities for performance and operator standards outside the machine cycle. This database comes with over 2,500 work center already developed.
The Cost Modeler tool was designed to enable Costimator users to create their own formula-driven cost models. The Costimator system comes pre-loaded with hundreds of cost models already built and verified, including hundreds of process, feature and product cost models. All cost models built using the Cost Modeler tool are stored in the Cost Modeler database library.
The IQBuilder Database allows the user to store and retrieve data into an estimate in two different methods. Using the list method, data will come directly from the tables of manufacturing times and costs that have been built into the database, performing a linear calculation to arrive at the manufacturing time and cost. Using the chart method, data will be derived from a regression analysis. The database within a millisecond finds the curve that best fits, and calculates the time or cost.
