Detail Cost Estimating

Detail Cost EstimatingThis Detail estimating method enables the estimator to calculate manufacturing cycle times and costs by selecting the appropriate materials, work centers, processes and tools required to manufacture the part or assembly. This process-based estimating method (op 10, 20, 30, etc.) accurately calculates the appropriate cycle times using the speeds & feeds, cut rates, etc. that exist in your (or your suppliers) shop.

Note the detail that is calculated here for spot drilling to prepare for the drilling and tapping. The program calculates the time based on the speeds and feeds for the material chosen. It also refers to the work center capability such as horsepower, efficiency, minimum and maximum spindle speeds including tool change time.
The same type of calculations are also performed for the drill and tap processes. Process Cost Model Examples
